New Look has announced plans to close 60 stores as part of a "rescue plan" which puts 980 jobs at risk.
The retail giant said the move was part of a bid to reduce its rent burden amid a "difficult retail environment."
Three London stores, including one in Oxford Circus, are among those facing closure.
The company anticipates that 980 people could lose their jobs as part of the “rescue plan” to avoid going into administration.
It said on Wednesday that it had instigated a Company Voluntary Arrangement and was seeking approval from creditors on its proposals to improve the operational performance of the Company.

These proposals include shutting 60 out of its total 593 stores in the UK alongside a further 6 sites which are sub-let to third parties.
The CVA would allow it to reduce costs and slash high rent bills on the company’s stores.
