Police are trawling the internet in the hunt for a schoolgirl who has run away with a 49-year-old man she met online.
Detectives believe that Laura Stainforth, 15, from Cleethorpes, North East Lincolnshire, disappeared with Robert Williams, 49, after arranging to meet him through a website.
Officers are examining internet traffic and social networking sites in the hope of finding clues to where the teenager is.
Websites based in Cleethorpes and Grimsby are filling with messages appealing for Laura to get in touch and say where she is.
A group called Find Laura Stainforth has recruited more than 150 members on Facebook, where Laura's profile lists Rob Williams among her social networking friends.
The teenager and Mr Williams were captured on CCTV footage at Grimsby railway station last Wednesday. Detectives believe they took a train to Doncaster, South Yorkshire, before travelling to London, and on to Dover.
Laura was then spotted by a member of the public in Dover the following day.
A group called Find Laura Stainforth has recruited more 110 members on Facebook, where Laura's profile lists Rob Williams among her social networking friends.
Mr Williams, who is known to use the alias Dave Ingram, has connections throughout the north of England and Scotland. Police sources said he was not on the sex offenders' register.
Detective Chief Inspector Sharon Fielding, who is leading the investigation, said: "We are urging anyone who has seen Laura or Mr Williams to contact us. I would also like to appeal to them directly to contact us - her family are worried about her as this disappearance is out of character for her."
