A landlord has brought in a ban on swearing in his pub.

Melvyn Wilkie, 60, who runs the Rum Puncheon in Gravesend, Kent, says he will give any customer who utters a mild swear word a warning - while those who use the f-word or c-word will be barred.

People who wear football shirts or hats will also face a ban and anyone aged under 21 is not allowed an alcoholic drink.

Mr Wilkie said: “This is our place and our rules.”
