A London rapper who travelled to Syria to fight for Islamic State terrorists appeared on television to attack police during the London riots.

Footage emerged today showing jihadist Abdel Majed Abdel Bary, 23, being interviewed on Australia’s Channel Nine news programme.

He is pictured on the first night of the riots in Tottenham in 2011 when trouble erupted outside the police station.

Bary, from Maida Vale appears in an agitated state as he rants angrily into the camera.

“The police are protecting the police station,” he says. “They’re not protecting the people.”

Bary says he was at the riots for three hours and repeatedly interrupts an interview with other bystanders. Pointing to a nearby building he says: “They [the police] basically want to see it burn down so the damage can look massive, innit. That’s all it is.”

Bary, who was once thought to be a suspect for “Jihadi John,” abandoned his singing career after becoming increasingly radicalised and is believed to have travelled to Syria last year.

Earlier this year, he posted a photograph on Twitter of himself holding up a decapitated head with the message “Chillin’ with my homie or what’s left of him”.
