Prince Harry and Barack Obama cheer on wheelchair basketball players at Invictus Games

Prince Harry was joined by former US President Barack Obama as they watched a wheelchair basketball match at the Invictus Games.

Mr Obama and Harry were all smiles as they posed for photos with young fans at the Paralymics-style event for wounded and disabled service personnel and veterans.

The pair were mobbed by a huge crowd as they walked in and word quickly spread about their unexpected arrival.

Joe Biden, Mr Obama’s White House second-in-command, and former second lady of the US Jill Biden also attended the match in Canada.

After posing for pre-match photos with the American team, the foursome sat in the front row for the event.

It comes after Harry on Sunday played host to US First Lady Melania Trump and Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau at the Games.

The event, founded by Harry in 2014, aims to aid the recovery of military personnel whether they are wounded in combat or outside of their service.

The meeting came after Mr Obama enjoyed a state visit to the UK in 2011, when he and his family stayed with the Queen.

And last year he and his wife had dinner with William, Kate and Harry at Kensington Palace, where they met Prince George.
