Garcia to 'enjoy it while it lasts'

Sergio Garcia admits Augusta National is not his favourite golf course, but all that could change if the Spanish star can claim an overdue first major title here on Sunday.

A year after stating he was not good enough to do precisely that and needed to "play for second or third place", Garcia went into the second round of the Masters with a share of the lead.

Garcia said: "It doesn't change that every week I tee it up and try to play my best golf and give myself a chance to win. It (Augusta) is not my most favourite place, but we try to enjoy it as much as we can each time we come here. Sometimes it comes out better than others. Let's enjoy it while it lasts."

Garcia carded a flawless 66 to join Australia's Marc Leishman at the top of the leaderboard, with Dustin Johnson a shot behind on five under and world number one Tiger Woods, seeking a fifth Green Jacket, carding a two-under-par 70 - the same opening score which set up his victories in 1997, 2001 and 2002.

It is the first time the 33-year-old has led a major since the 2007 Open, when he led on his own after each of the first three rounds but eventually lost out in a play-off to Padraig Harrington at Carnoustie.

Leishman, who missed the cut on his only previous Masters appearance in 2010, stormed home in 31 and said: "The first time I was here a few years ago, I was like a bit of a deer in headlights. I found myself looking around a little bit too much and not concentrating on getting the ball in the hole, which is what you need to do.

"But growing up as a kid, you always had the putt to win the Masters on the putting green. To be here is awesome and to be sitting here (sharing the lead) is pretty cool."
