The battle for the Socceraid trophy appears to have started off the pitch, as barechested hunks Teddy Sheringham, Alan Shearer and Westlife's Nicky Byrne faced off in the dressing room clad in just their towels.

In a sight guaranteed to get the women of Britain behind them, the football greats showed they have definitely maintained their match fitness despite having retired from competitive football.

It looked more like the battle of the six-pack as Sex And The City: The Movie actor Gilles Marini, who played Samantha's neighbour also stripped off to reveal his rippling biceps.

Meanwhile Westlife's Nicky represented for the pop world with a great set of pecs.

The celebrities were seen at a training day ahead of  Robbie Williams and Jonathan Wilkes' brainchild, Soccer Aid.

The charity football match, takes place at Wembley Stadium on September 7.

Harry Redknapp’s England team will star football legends such as Alan Shearer along with celebrities including Angus Deayton and Jamie Theakston.

The Rest of the World side will be managed by Kenny Dalglish and captained by celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay.

Life-long football fan Craig David, who missed out on the inaugural event in 2006 at Old Trafford, said: "Every kid who loves football would love to play on an amazing pitch against great players. It's incredible.

"I can see Wembley Stadium from where I live, and to have the opportunity to get that ball and blast it in the back of the net would be mad."
