She is said to be distraught and ordered a bed to be made up in his ward so she could stay with him. the star's sister Jamie- Lynn, thei r brother and parents joined the 25-mile dash to hospital in Mississippi, where doctors, unable to pinpoint the problem straight away, kept the toddler in for overnight observation. Spears's ex-husband, rapper Kevin Federline, is believed to be planning to f ly from Los angeles to his son's side.

Spears, 26, has just got her life back on track after a public meltdown earlier this year. the week-long trip to stay with her parents was the first time she had been allowed to leave California with Jayden and her eldest son, three-year-old Sean preston, since Federline was given full custody in July. a friend said: "One minute Britney and her sons were enjoying their first visit to her folks' place in months, and the next Jayden had fallen ill. Britney dialled an ambulance but was told she'd be quicker to take him herself. We don't yet know what's wrong."
