A-list couple Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie embrace in an emotional new still from forthcoming romance, By The Sea.

Jolie’s latest directorial effort has just been given a November release date by Universal Pictures, presumably in hopes of being considered during Awards Season.

To drum up excitement before the trailer drops, the studio has teased fans with the tender new picture, in which the real-life couple share an intimate hug.

Jolie, 39, whose 2014 film, Unbroken, was a box office hit, if not a critical one, has gone in a different direction for this new project.

Co-starring with her husband, the pair play a couple who head to a French resort to try and resolve their relationship issues.

Jolie recently said of the project: “This is a story about a relationship derailed by loss, the tenacity of love, and the path to recovery and acceptance.

“It has been a privilege to explore these universal human experiences with such a generous and talented cast and crew.”

The romantic drama, set in the 1970s, will also star Mélanie Laurent and Melvil Poupaud as a newlywed couple.

Jolie and Pitt, who began their real life romance when they met on the set of Mr And Mrs Smith back in 2005, will share producing duties.

The newly-announced release date of November 19 (US), means that the film will be hoping to drum up Academy Award attention.

Other films slated for release in November include The Danish Girl, starring Eddie Redmayne and Brookyn, with Saoirse Ronan.
