Cheryl backs Honey G on The X Factor: ‘I really hope she wins’
The pop star and former X Factor judge, who stepped down from her role on the panel last year, has said that she’s keen for the ‘North Weezy’ rapper to win the show, despite the fact that she hasn’t ever seen her perform.
In an interview with Hello Magazine, the 33-year-old singer admitted that she hadn’t watched much of the TV talent show this year, but was well aware of Honey.
“No I haven’t [been watching the show], should I be?” she asked. “'I haven't watched her so I can't have an informed opinion, but my nieces and nephews think she's great and I really hope she wins, just for them. I've got millions of nieces and nephews now,
The former Girls Aloud star, who is rumoured to be pregnant with her first child, went on to say that she was more inclined to sit down and watch I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here.
“I've been drinking too much hot chocolate,” she said. “That's what I like to relax, hot chocolate and watching the telly.
“I'm excited for I'm A Celebrity… That I love. It is my favourite few weeks when that is on. Just chilling at home, no hair and makeup, in my jammies and dressing gown with the dogs sitting on the sofa.”
Honey G – real name Anna Gilford – found herself in the bottom two for the first time on Sunday night’s result show.
After judges Simon Cowell, Louis Walsh and Sharon Osbourne opted to save her over Ryan Lawrie, many viewers took to Twitter to brand the show a ‘farce’.
