David Bowie reveals artwork and teaser trailer for Blackstar album ahead of release
David Bowie has unveiled the artwork and a teaser trailer for new album Blackstar.
The music icon, who will be releasing his 25th studio album next year, shared the black and white cover art on Thursday.
Bowie, 68, also gave fans a teaser clip of the trailer for the first single taken from the album, which will be debuted on Thursday night.
The single – also called Blackstar – will be played in full for the first time on Sky Atlantic ahead of Friday’s worldwide release.
Blackstar features in the opening credits of the channel’s new drama show, The Last Panthers, and will be played ahead of Thursday night’s episode.
The 45-minute jazz-inspired album is being released to coincide with the star’s 69th birthday next year.
This marks Bowie’s first new material since 2013’s The Next Day which hit the number one spot in the UK charts.
Directed by Johan Renck, the short film is set to air at 8.45pm ahead of the show.
