Hailee Steinfeld and Game of Thrones star Sophie Turner team up for surprise fan meeting in Hyde Park

Game of Thrones actress Sophie Turner teamed up with Hailee Steinfeld for a surprise meet and greet with fans in London.

The pair were mobbed by adoring fans in Hyde Park on Thursday night after taking to Twitter to tell their combined one million followers that they were heading to the park for a surprise appearance.

The pair – who starred in summer comedy film Barely Lethal together – held hands and attempted to keep a low profile in a large hat and hoodie as they made their way into the park.

Steinfeld, 18, appeared to be the ringleader in arranging the meet up and tweeted fans telling them to arrive at 6:30pm.

The pair later posted a Snapchat video en route to the park, captioned: “COMIN Hyde Park.”

The girls took selfies with fans and signed autographs before posing for a group photo on the grass.

Clearly excited by the love from fans, Steinfeld later tweeted: “London, that was special. So much love for you.”

Steinfeld is in London to promote her debut single Love Myself. Speaking on Lorraine on Friday morning she explained how she moved from acting to singing.

"I made a movie last year called Pitch Perfect 2, which was the perfect segue into doing it for real," she told Lorraine Kelly. "I went to an event seven months ago and I sat next to a man named Charlie Walk from Republic Records and we got talking. Long story short after a couple of meetings I signed to the label and the single came quickly after."

The Romeo and Juliet star also praised her friend and fellow singer Taylor Swift, saying: “She’s been able to [give advice] without saying anything. She honestly is the perfect example of an artist and a human being. She’s one of the most amazing people I’ve ever met.”
