On February 9 1964 the Beatles made their American TV debut on the Ed Sullivan Show, watched by more than 73 million people, heralding the moment when they became a US, as well as a British phenomenon.

To commemorate this music and television moment, a two-hour show was recorded last night, including appearances by Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr, which will be broadcast on CBS on February 9 at exactly the same time of the original event.
