Apprentice reject Jane McEvoy said there were no hard feelings between her and project manager Laura Hogg who she said was "a lovely girl" despite the Scot nominating her for the axe.

The pair were joined by architect Gabrielle Omar to face Lord Sugar in the boardroom at the end of last night's show after their rivals made a bigger profit in the second-hand sales task.

Lord Sugar told the trio he was not impressed after they overloaded their shop with furniture so it "looked like a tip" and revealed Jane had the worst sales figures, only pulling in £10.

The 28-year-old from Kilkenny, Ireland, who runs her own food company, said going on the show was "a positive thing on the map of my life" despite her tearful exit.

She said: "I've always worked really hard and been determined to push myself forward."

And she defended her decision to leave the selling to her team-mates while she tried to drum up trade, saying: "I know nothing about vintage furniture.

"If you have no clue what you are talking about there is no point telling other people about it.

"The shop was really quiet and we had six people in there selling and I said 'There is no point being here and I'm going to get out and get people in'.

"I wouldn't have given away some of the stuff we were selling, it was really bad."

She added: "Laura is a lovely girl and at the end of the day Lord Sugar made the decision and I wish her the best."
