Jennifer Lawrence proved that Oscar winners aren't always serious as she goofed around with a pair of chopsticks during a night out.

The Hollywood A-lister was spotted leaving dinner in New York on Wednesday night with a pair of chopsticks jammed into her mouth as she joked around with friends.

Known for her laid back attitude, the star was clearly unfazed by the waiting photographers, playing up to the cameras as she danced around the street.

The 24-year-old, who is still thought to be dating Coldplay's Chris Martin, seemed a little more subdued as she headed into Nobu earlier in the evening.

Emerging a few hours later, the Silver Linings Playbook star was in a much more ebullient mood as she found a fun use for her chopsticks.

Lawrence will soon start the promo tour for the eagerly-anticipated Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 2, which is set for worldwide release in November this year.

The trailer for the final film in the franchise was released earlier this month, featuring features explosions, battle scenes and a powerful speech from the star's character Katniss Everdeen.

Lawrence recently opened up about how shooting the final scene was emotional.

She told The Telegraph: “Oh my god. There was so much sobbing. But then Josh and Liam and I hang out and then we're like, 'Oh yeah, it's not that bad, now we can hang out all the time without people knocking on our trailer telling us only five minutes left'."
