Lord Alan Sugar appears in upcoming 'Doctor Who' episode 'The Power of Three' as himself in a clip from 'The Apprentice'.

The 'Apprentice' boss appears as himself in next week's instalment of the sci-fi series, 'The Power of Three'.

In the episode, the Doctor (Matt Smith) and his companions Amy Pond (Karen Gillan) and Rory Williams (Arthur Darvill) must investigate millions of small black cubes which start appearing all over the Earth.

Although the Time Lord is warning everyone the mysterious objects could spell disaster for the planet, Lord Sugar spots an opportunity to make money out of them.

The 65-year-old business mogul sets a task for the candidates on 'The Apprentice' to try and sell as many of the cubes as they can.

The clip also features Lord Sugar's trusted aides Nick Hewer, 68, and Karren Brady, 43, and is watched by the TARDIS crew,

All of the production team on the programme were thrilled when the tough-talking star agreed to shoot the scenes.

A source told the Daily Star: "Getting someone like Lord Sugar on the show was a real coup for us. He is a big fan and thought it was a giggle to film a clip from 'The Apprentice' for it."

'The Power of Three' will air on BBC One on September 22, while the next episode 'A Town Called Mercy' hits screens on Saturday.
