Neil Patrick Harris has announced that he’s married long-term partner David Burtka in Italy over the weekend.

The How I Met Your Mother actor took to Twitter to share the good news with his fans, after marrying his partner of 10 years, David.

Neil tweeted: “Guess what? @Davidburtka and I got married over the weekend. In Italy. Yup, we put the 'n' and 'd' in 'husband'.”

The couple tied the knot in Italy on Saturday, and both grooms wore Tom Ford suits. How I Met Your Mother producer and director, Pam Fryman officiated at the ceremony.

A representative of Neil released the following statement: "We happily confirm that Neil Patrick Harris and David Burtka were married in Italy in an intimate ceremony surrounded by their close friends and family."

The pair, who have adopted twin’s Gideon and Harper together, announced their engagement back in 2011, after the Marriage Equality Act was passed in New York.
