Noel Gallagher has admitted that Oasis became better as a live band as their song-writing got worse.

The High Flying Birds frontman says that the iconic 1990s group came into their own as performers while the quality of their songs deteriorated.

Speaking to Chris Moyles on his new XFM breakfast show, Gallagher said: “The second lot of gigs we [Oasis] did at Wembley were infinitely better. As a live band, we got better – as the songs got worse.”

The 48-year-old went on to say that, while many people would like to see the band reform, he is not one of them.

He told Moyles: “Probably not in the very near future. One should never say never though, when someone’s waving a cheque for a quarter of a billion.

“I’m sure there are countless, thousands of people who would love it. But there’s one that wouldn’t…me."

While the singer and his brother Liam Gallagher have been on good terms in recent years, they fell out again earlier this year.

Claiming that he hasn’t seen his brother since February, Gallagher said:

“When City won the league about 8-9 months ago. I don’t hang out with my family, I never did.”
