Rita Ora has signed a brand new record contract after reportedly settling her lawsuit with Jay Z’s Roc Nation.

The British pop star, who filed a lawsuit against the label last year in a bid to terminate her contract, told fans that she was in the process of signing a new deal.

Posting the news on her Snapchat this week, the 25-year-old shared a photo of the new documents, simply writing: “Contract time!!”

It seems that Ora and Roc Nation have been able to settle their lawsuits out of court, after the label filed to counter-sue the singer for $2.4 million in February.

Ora only released one album after signing to the label back in 2008 and argued that the company’s change in direction was to blame.

The star filed papers at the Los Angeles Superior Court back in December, saying that she wanted to be released from her contract as it was "unenforceable".

In the papers, Ora complained that Roc Nation was a ‘diminished’ label with the singer “caught in a political quagmire of dysfunction.”

The label’s countersuit claimed that the singer was in breach of the five-album contract after only delivering one record.

Ora is currently working on the sequel to Fifty Shades of Grey, after which she is expected to start work on her second album.

A source recently told The Sun: “Rita is overjoyed she can finally start discussions with other labels, which have been waiting on this case to be resolved.

“Once filming wraps on Fifty Shades, she will finalise a new deal and start work on recording her new album.”
