Former Coronation Street star Bill Ward is to take on the role of influential music producer and record label founder Sam Phillips in new West End musical Million Dollar Quartet.

Ward, 43, who won two British Soap Awards as Charlie Stubbs, will play the Sun Records boss who brought together the "million dollar quartet" of Elvis, Johnny Cash, Carl Perkins and Jerry Lee Lewis.

The show will open at the Noel Coward Theatre on February 28.
