Justin Bieber did not show up for his high school graduation ceremony.

The Boyfriend singer was absent at the event last Thursday after earning a diploma as part of the 2012 graduating class of St. Michael Catholic Secondary School in his native Ontario in Canada.

Justin did not turn up in person for the commencement ceremony that took place, but the 18-year-old singer's name was included in the program.

The school's principal Tim Doherty said: "We are very proud of Justin and all of the other 192 graduates of St. Michael School, however, we're not at liberty to discuss any personal plans or information about Justin or any other graduate."

Justin has been busy on his global tour in support of his latest studio and fourth No. 1 album, Believe, making appearances with his girlfriend Selena Gomez and promoting his fragrance.

Apparently the star took courses through e-learning, although the nature of his course load remains classified out of respect for his privacy.

The institution requires its students to complete 30 credits, including 16 mandatory classes.
