Kanye West will stage his debut catwalk show during Paris Fashion Week.

The 'Runaway' hitmaker will launch his first womenswear collection next month with an elaborate show in the French capital.

He has hired London-based designer Katie Eary as one of the creative leads and she is best-known for her bold, bright, eye-catching designs.

According to vogue.co.uk, Kanye had originally planned to showcase his collection as part of New York Fashion Week, but postponed the event until the final week of fashion month.

Kanye had previously claimed he's not taken seriously in the fashion world because he is a musician.

The 'Stronger' rapper - who designed a show line for Louis Vuitton last year - said people in the industry "look down" on him because of his background even though he knows what he's talking about.

He said: "Fashion completely parallels with music. Fashion people look down on musicians. They look down on celebrities. I don't care about whether I sit on the front row - I want to see art in its purest form."
