Katie Price is set to go straight to the top of the Sunday Times Bestseller list this week, with her new novel Paradise.

The former glamour model's fifth novel, the final instalment in her Angel trilogy, will go straight in at number one for hardback fiction, outselling the number two book by two copies to one, her publisher, Random House, said.

Price, who chooses the plots for her books, penned by ghostwriter Rebecca Farnworth, said: "I think it's brilliant that it's number one.

"It just goes to show people that when I really put my mind to something it makes number one and it's brilliant and I'm absolutely over the moon."

Price, whose recent single Free To Love Again flopped in the charts at Number 60, has vowed to keep singing, but she said: "It's not a career, it's just something I do for fun, so when I'm ready I'll bring something out."

A spokeswoman for Random House said: "Katie Price is one of the top novelists in the country and all of her books have gone straight to number one when they've been published, and Paradise is no exception to that.

"We've just heard that Paradise is going to be number one in The Sunday Times Bestseller List this coming weekend, and that's all before today's signing and her book tour which is around seaside towns. Bring it on."

Hundreds of screaming fans turned up to HMV on London's Oxford Street today to see the 32-year-old mother-of-three, aka Jordan, sign copies of her new book, which tells the story of a model from Brighton who rekindles her relationship with her ex.

Price said of her creation: "Obviously there are some similarities (between Angel and I) in that she's from Brighton, she bathes in Coco Chanel, has an underwear range out, but it's all fiction."

Asked if there were any parallels between Angel's feelings for her ex and her own towards ex-husband Peter Andre, she said: "No, it's a novel and it's fiction. If they want to know the truth about my real feelings then get my autobiography in October."

The reality TV star also confirmed the trilogy of Angel novels are to be made into a Hollywood film, as is her own autobiography.

She said: "The Angels ... they are going to make a film out of it and my autobiographies, after the one comes out in October, I've already got a director and producer in America who are going to do a film about that."

Asked if she'd star in the film herself, she said: "No, I can't act to save my life.

"I would do something like what Mel Gibson did. He produced a film called (Paparazzi), which I suggest everyone watches, and he made a cameo role in that, so I would do something like that.

"I might just sit on a sofa in the background, but not talk or anything."
