Anna Nicole Smith's mother won a major legal battle against the man claiming to be the father of her daughter's baby.

The move came after Smith's mother, Virgie Arthur, went to court with an application to "protect" Dannielynn Hope from "the clutches" of Stern.

In a victory for the family, the Bahamas Supreme Court acknowledged her concerns over the safety of the five-month-old baby.

It comes as yet another man, one of Smith's bodyguards, has claimed he may be the girl's father.

Police said coastguard and immigration will be alerted to Arthur's fears, after it was revealed Stern had bought a luxury boat.

Dannielynn, who is in line to receive £274m after Smith died in a Florida hotel room, is thought to be with Stern in Nassau.

Arthur said: "We are very happy with the decision but still very worried about my granddaughter."

She will now push for Dannielynn to be given to social services while her paternity remains an issue.
