Ministers from 20 churches have joined forces to protest over a concert by rapper Nelly.

One of the clergymen, the Rev Adrian Rodgers of the Fullness of Joy Church, said they were alarmed at his 'vile and filthy lyrics'. He urged people not to buy tickets to the March 12 concert at Arkansas's state university in Jonesboro. 'Tear the tickets up,' he added. 'Do not go and do not allow your children to go.'

Although ticket sales remain brisk, the ministers hope their protest will dissuade other rappers from playing in the city.
