Paul Grant said he had been ‘drinking too much’ weeks before his death and admitted to ‘blowing’ his fortune

The late actor Paul Grant said he had been “drinking too much” and admitted to “blowing” his acting fortune just weeks before he died.

In a newly re-emerged video of the Star Wars actor, 56, filmed at London‘s King’s Cross station in February, Grant speaks about spending his money on sex workers and drugs.

In the harrowing footage Grant, who was perhaps best known for paying Ewok in Return of the Jedi alongside Harrison Ford and Mark Hamill, says that day needs to be “my last day of drinking“, adding: “I need to stop doing this.”

Grant, who also starred in the Harry Potter films, was found collapsed outside King’s Cross station on Thursday afternoon. His family have said he was taken to hospital but was later declared brain dead and his life support machine was switched off.

His cause of death has not yet been announced.

He says in the clip, which featured on YouTube channel Revelation 22:13: “I’ve been thinking about this, it’s my last day of drinking. I’ve been drinking too much.

The Labyrinth star - who was 4ft4in tall - said he “had money” from his work - but that he had spent it.

He joked: “You only live once, don’t ya?”

But Grant insisted he was “not addicted to anything” and was “only enjoying myself.” “I can drink a whole f***ing day or a month, but I’m not addicted to it,” he insisted.

Grant has previously spoken about his struggles with drugs, telling The Sunday Mirror that the breakdown of his marriage caused him to spiral.

Speaking at the time, he said: “I need help. I’ve been on cocaine and it has just got worse. I’m drinking and smoking what I can get.”

“I had a family, I was married, now I’m divorced. I’ve lost everything. I’ve not got anything, my things, pictures, clothes are all over the place.

“I don’t know what I want at the moment. I had money, I blew it all, I spent it on drugs and prostitutes.”

Father-of-three Mr Grant is originally from Peterborough in Cambridgeshire.

His daughter Sophie Jayne Grant, 28, from Peterborough, told The Sun following his passing: “I’m devastated. My dad was a legend in so many ways.

“He always brought a smile and laughter to everyone’s face. My dad, I love you so much. Sleep tight.”
