First he was reunited with his wife and now troubled ex-England footballer Paul Gascoigne seems to have kissed and made up with best friend Jimmy 'Five Bellies' Gardner.

The pair fell out earlier this year after a massive row when Gardner confronted the star over his shocking weight-loss and black depression.

Gardner said that Gascoigne then launched a tirade of abuse at him.

However, the long-time buddies appeared to have buried the hatchet as they were spotted meeting up at a London hotel.

The pals shared a taxi and strolled down Park Lane, before heading back to their Newcastle homeland.

Gazza, who is godfather to Jimmy's teenage son Liam, is currently being treated for alcohol addiction and other conditions at rehab clinic the Priory. His spirits have been lifted by regular visits from ex-wife Sheryl and her children.

Her offer of moral support reignited romance between the pair, despite their troubled history.

The pair married in 1996 and he went on to adopt her two children Bianca and Mason.

She filed for a divorce less than a year later and they parted ways in 1998.

His friendship with 'Five Bellies' had previously appeared to be rock-solid, with the former football legend even reportedly splashing out on a £50,000 Mercedes for his pal.

Despite their problems, earlier this year Gardner spoke fondly of his pal of more than 30 years.

'Paul's more than a brother to me', he said. 'More than a husband could be to his wife. I love him to bits.'

And now it looks like the pair could be ready to resume their famous bond.
