Rod makes Penny wait a year to marry

They may have been an item for six years but Penny Lancaster will have to wait yet another year before Rod Stewart finally marries her.

The former model has revealed that although she would love to get married now, she will only become Rod's third wife when he finishes touring next year.

Disappointed Penny, 35, said: "We're not getting married this month, but we are still going to.

"I would love to do it before, but Rod is on tour until next summer so it will be June, July or August next year.

"We are looking for the perfect venue at the moment, but we have yet to pick anywhere.

"It won't be a showy event, but instead something intimate with all the children and our closest friends."

The celebrity couple's son Alistair might even walk his mum down the aisle.

"We really want Alastair to be involved - he will be over 18 months then so hopefully he can walk down the ailse with me," Penny added.

One possible venue for the wedding is the £3.3million villa in the South of France that Stewart has just bought.

The four-bedroom property just outside Nice, has grounds of one acre, spectacular views towards the St Tropez coast, a swimming pool, gym, cinema and nursery.
