Adele's boyfriend was reportedly planning to propose to her before he learned she was pregnant.

Adele announced on Friday that she and her boyfriend of nearly a year, Simon Konecki, are expecting their first child together.

However, she could also be expecting a wedding, as the 38-year-old divorced father apparently has a intentions to pop the question.

A source said: "He was planning to propose anyway!"

The 23-year-old Grammy winner, who is nearly four months pregnant, wrote on her website last week, "I'm delighted to announce that Simon and I are expecting our first child together. I wanted you to hear the news direct from me, obviously we're over the moon and very excited but please respect our privacy at this precious time. Yours always, Adele xx."

Adele was raised by a single mother and a friend revealed that she wants a low-key affair where her mother gives her away.

The insider added that more than anything else in the world, she wants to be a wife and parent.
