AJ signs up for more goals

Andy Johnson expects to continue his prolific scoring rate in the Premiership.

The striker netted 32 goals for Crystal Palace last season and opened his account in the top flight at Norwich last week.

He says he has improved 150 per cent since Iain Dowie became manager last December and is full of confidence after agreeing a new five-year contract ahead of tomorrow's game at home to Everton.

Johnson, 23, said: "I don't see why I can't do as well in the Premier League as I did last season.

"I would be happy to get half as many goals but I think we are going to create plenty of chances.

"We have good players and depth in the squad and we are not just here for one season. Dowie has been brilliant since he arrived. I love working under him and was happy to sign for as long as possible. The chairman has rewarded me for what I did last year."

Johnson started well with new strike partner Sandor Torghelle in the 1-1 draw at Carrow Road last week, but the Hungary international is a doubt for tomorrow after injuring an ankle in a friendly against Scotland on Wednesday.

Michael Hughes (groin), Darren Powell (hamstring) and Mikele Leigertwood (knee) are also doubts.
