Forget Henry: The Ox wants Bendtner back at Arsenal
Sam Long6 December 2015

"If you could turn back time and have any Arsenal legend play for you now, who would it be?"

What a glorious question. It's a difficult one, but Gunners fans the world over would probably be left salivating at the prospect.

Surely Thierry Henry in his pomp would be the man to help Arsene Wenger's side end their Premier League drought?

Or perhaps Dennis Bergkamp's craft would be of better use? Maybe Patrick Vieira's power in the centre of the park would finally put an end to the side's soft underbelly?

Let's not forget Tony Adams. The Englishman's presence alongside Laurent Koscielny (Sorry, Per) could put the north Londoners in the driving seat for top honours.

However, although the theoretical proposition is one any Arsenal supporter would wish to respond to, only midfielder Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain had the chance to do so during the club's pre-season tour of Singapore.

But the Ox was in no mood for seriousness and, rather than give us a glimpse into which ex-player he admires the most, took the opportunity to ridicule his former team mate.

All aboard the banter bus!

The mere mention of Lord Bendtner, as some people know him, made the entire room erupt with laughter.

It's safe to say that the 27-year-old is not a club legend, despite spending almost a decade on the north London club's books.

However, the Denmark international is not just a laughing stock. The 27-year-old is currently plying his trade with Wolfsburg, who will compete in the Champions League next season.

The Bundesliga outfit could even end up being paired with the egotistical striker's former employers in the group stages. Now that would be a story.

Meanwhile, he could even come face-to-face with the north Londoners in the upcoming Emirates Cup. We imagined he'd have a few choice words for Oxlade-Chamberlain.
