Arsene tells his goal-shy Gunners to take it easy

Backs to the wall: Arsene Wenger has often been critical of teams who come to the Emirates and play defensive football

Arsene Wenger has played down Arsenal's barren goalscoring run and insisted his players just need to be more relaxed when presented with chances.

The Gunners face Fulham at Emirates Stadium tomorrow having played out three successive 0-0 draws in the Premier League.

Their last League home goal came against Bolton on 10 January but Wenger claims the problem has been blown out of proportion.

He said: "We do not put any special pressure on a guy who misses a goal chance. We remind them they have the quality.

"The bigger you make a problem, the bigger it becomes. I remember teams who concede goals in the final five minutes and the more you say to them we don't want to concede goals in the last five minutes', the more it becomes a problem and the more you concede goals.

"So you just have to be natural, spontaneous and believe in what you do and your ability.

"It is a fact that most teams who come to the Emirates this year have, after five minutes, played the ball from the goalkeeper to the right-back and played to the left-back to gain a minute. That is a negative attitude but that has to strengthen our resolve to punish these teams and win."

Wenger revealed that midfielder Abou Diaby is available despite injuring his calf against Roma. The manager said: "He has recovered surprisingly well."

Fulham knocked Swansea out of the FA Cup 2-1 with goals from the makeshift strike partnership of Clint Dempsey and Bobby Zamora.

Dempsey will move back to midfield tomorrow so that fit-again Andy Johnson can partner Zamora. John Pantsil is suspended so Fredrik Stoor will deputise at right-back while Danny Murphy returns in central midfield.
