Becks sets Real comeback

14 April 2012

David beckham is hoping to be back playing for Real Madrid next weekend.

Beckham has been out of action since breaking a rib in England's World Cup qualifier against Wales at Old Trafford last month.

He now claims to be making a good recovery and has targeted Real's clash with Albacete for his comeback on 14 November. Playing then would also give him the opportunity to prove his fitness ahead of England's friendly against Spain at the Bernabeu the following Wednesday.

Beckham said today: "It's not a nice injury to have and I can't wait to get playing now. You can enjoy a couple of weeks off, getting the rest in, but after that it is so frustrating.

"My broken ribs have prevented me from going to the gym; I can't run, I can't walk. A couple of days ago I felt great and tried running, but for the last two or three days I've not been able to move."
