Luiz Felipe Scolari has ordered his Chelsea stars to cut short their holidays - because he is starting work a week earlier than planned.

Scolari has issued the shock demand to the players not involved in Euro 2008 and expects them in for pre-season training on Monday, July 7, according to reports.

A word to the wise for John Terry, Frank Lampard et al - don't disobey the new Stamford Bridge boss. Just ask Serbia defender Ivica Dragutinovic

The new Blues boss received a four-game ban - later reduced to two - for improper conduct after appearing to strike the Serb following a 1-1 draw between Portugal and Serbia.

Scolari appeared to lash out after Dragutinovic was sent off - afterwards claiming the defender insulted his family - but denied making any contact.

'Words in Spanish directed at my family, I understand perfectly well,' he said.

'As such when I reacted, it was the wrong reaction but sometimes even rational and normal people err.'
