12 April 2012

West Indies have been given permission to call up Devendra Bishoo to their World Cup squad to replace the injured Dwayne Bravo.

The move was rubber-stamped by the International Cricket Council after Windies vice-captain and key all-rounder Bravo was ruled out of the competition with a left knee injury.

Any injury-based replacement at the World Cup is subject to the final approval of the event's technical committee.

Bishoo, a 25-year-old spin bowler, has not been capped by the West Indies. He has played 21 first-class matches and 13 domestic Twenty20 games and also played for the West Indies A team last year.
