Broncos star banned

London Broncos centre Rob Jackson has been banned for six weeks and fined £150 for biting an opponent's arm in Monday's Super League defeat at Hull.

The 20-year-old was found guilty of attacking Hull's Richard Fletcher after the Rugby Football League's disciplinary committee viewed the match video.

An RFL spokesman said: "It's a serious offence and the committee's verdict reflects its reaction to it."

Broncos coach Tony Rea felt his player had been provoked. He said: "I do feel a bit sorry for Rob being put in that position in the first place."

Jackson, who is on a season-long loan from Wigan, will now miss six Super League matches including Sunday's home game against Bradford Bulls. Rob Jackson is out for six weeks
