Calzaghe ready to call it quits

12 April 2012

Joe Calzaghe is considering calling time on his 14-year unbeaten professional career after his next fight.

The WBC, WBA and WBO super-middleweight title holder is looking to step up a weight to challenge Bernard Hopkins at light-heavy.

"I have got two fights left - tops," the BBC Sports Personality of the Year told the Daily Mirror. "I might even have one more and then decide to pack it all in and then get on with the rest of my life. Who knows?"

He added: "There are plenty of other things I want to do. My next fight could definitely be my last.

"I don't want to fight on for money. That's not the right motivation. I've achieved almost everything I wanted to achieve.

"I need to have a goal, like Hopkins. It has to be something big to motivate me."
