Coleman calls for 18 warriors

Fulham manager Chris Coleman wants players who are "ready to go to war" when next season's Premiership begins.

Coleman, who has been disappointed with Fulham's inconsistent form this season, is looking to generate a much stronger bond between his players.

"We've got to get the togetherness back in this squad," he said. "We need 18 players in the squad who are all committed and ready to fight for the cause of Fulham Football Club next year.

"That may mean using players who are good enough for the Premiership but not as good as the ones we have had - but who are ready to go to war.

"We don't want pretenders who think we need them here. We need individuals who are ready to do the business when the pressure is on."

Fulham travel to Blackburn tomorrow in search of a first away win in more than three months. Papa Bouba Diop is still suspended and Collins John injured (hamstring) but Steed Malbranque, who has failed to make the substitutes' bench for the last two matches, could return.
