Matthew Walker and Mike Carberry picked up where Robert Key left off with a century stand as Kent built a massive first innings total against Lancashire at Tunbridge Wells. Key laid the foundation with his 180 before the fifth wicket pair took their stand to 115 with Walker reaching 47 and former Surrey left-hander Carberry racing to 62 with 11 fours.

Middlesex

Paceman Nantie Hayward gave Middlesex a glimmer of hope against Division One leaders Warwickshire at Lord's.
The South African today removed Ian Bell for 129 and then Jonathan Trott (3) and Jim Troughton (0) cheaply. But the visitors still remain strongly placed with Nick Knight closing in on his doublecentury at 198 not out.

Surrey

Phil Weston and Matt Windows reached half centuries as Surrey continued to struggle on day two at Bristol.
Weston was unbeaten on 68 and Windows 50 not out as bottom side Gloucestershire, still searching for their first win of the season, trailed by 116 runs with eight wickets in hand.

David Hussey and Mark Ealham built a century partnership for Nottinghamshire at The Rose Bowl today. The Division Two leaders started the day five wickets down and 14 runs behind Hampshire but were soon past that score with Hussey on 44 and Ealham on 70.
