Mike Hussey slots into sixth in Test rankings

10 April 2012

Australia batsman Mike Hussey has risen eight places to sixth in the ICC Test rankings following his excellent display in the Third Test.

The 35-year-old, whose place in the side was in question before the Ashes, posted his second century of the series, leaping above England's Jonathan Trott.

Meanwhile, Sachin Tendulkar hit his 50th Test century against South Africa in his first match back with India's one-day squad in 11 months. The veteran is two points shy of reclaiming the No1 batting position from Sri Lanka's Kumar Sangakkara.

Mitchell Johnson's return to form with the ball at the WACA has seen him climb the bowling rankings to fourth, rising above England's James Anderson. Dale Steyn remains the top bowler after helping South Africa to victory over India.
