Mickey Arthur has been dismissed as coach of Pakistan, along with his backroom staff.

The PCB have decided against renewing the South African’s contract after they failed to make the last four of the World Cup last month, although only on net run-rate.

They promised they will be “immediately undertaking a robust recruitment process”.

Also leaving are batting coach Grant Flower, bowling coach Azhar Mahmood and trainer Grant Luden.

Arthur is the second international coach to leave his post this week, after South Africa did not renew Ottis Gibson’s tenure.

It would be a surprise if either is in the frame to replace Trevor Bayliss as England coach in September as Ashley Giles, managing director of England cricket, favours an English candidate.
