Unfazed: Aussie Shane Watson claimed his team-mates will seek to exploit the inexperience of Steven Finn, pictured

Steven Finn today hit back at Shane Watson's claim that he is the weak link in the England team and insisted the criticism would serve to spur him on in the Ashes.

Australian all-rounder Watson intends to target England's young paceman when the series begins on 25 November, claiming his team-mates will also seek to exploit the inexperience of the 21-year-old.

But Finn, who is due to play only his eighth Test against Pakistan at Lord's on Thursday, is unfazed by the attack.

He said: "It is nice they are concerning themselves with me already. I draw positives from the fact they are talking about me. They can say what they want.

"I am focusing on making my game even better than it is at the moment and ensuring that I am in the squad for Australia."

Pakistan will fancy their chances of levelling the four-match npower series at 2-2 after their victory at The Brit Insurance Oval but Finn remains confident England will prevail.

He added: "One win does not mean they are any closer to us. We had resounding wins at Trent Bridge and Edgbaston and we believe we are the superior team. We are looking to prove that again at Lord's."
