Tim Bresnan recalled due to Broad concerns

Return: Tim Bresnan
10 April 2012

Tim Bresnan has been added to England's squad for tomorrow's first one-day international against Sri Lanka because of fears over Stuart Broad's fitness.

Broad tripped over a medicine ball in training last Friday, four days after he bruised a heel on the final day of the Third Test at the Rose Bowl.

Broad captained England for the first time in Saturday's Twenty20 thrashing by Sri Lanka in Bristol but might be required to bowl 10 overs at The Oval tomorrow, instead of the allocated four in the shortest form of the game.

Meanwhile, the Decision Review System will now be used in the Test series against India after a ruling by the game's governing body, the International Cricket Council.

India did not want to use reviews but, although HawkEye will not be available for lbw reviews, the third umpire will able to call on HotSpot and sound technology when examining replays of close catches.
