Downes warning to young players

13 April 2012

Wally Downes has urged his young players to keep their feet on the ground for tonight's visit of Bristol City.

The Brentford manager rates Danny Wilson's side as the best footballing team in the division and knows the Bees will have to be at their best to win.

Downes said: "Saturday was a great result but that's gone now. I hope the players enjoyed it, but they must understand that things aren't always like that."

Scottish midfielder Jamie Fullarton, who opened the scoring against Huddersfield, is out with a knee injury so 21-year-old Jay Smith will make his third senior start.

Downes said: "In my three seasons here, Bristol have provided the best advert for football in the division. I've got the utmost respect for Danny Wilson and his team."
