Dyson appointed West Indies coach

Former Australia batsman John Dyson has been appointed as the new coach of West Indies.

Dyson, who coached Sri Lanka for two years from 2003, takes over from fellow Australian David Moore who had been placed in temporary charge after the World Cup earlier this year.

A statement on the official West Indies Cricket Board website, www.windiescricket.com, confirmed: "The rest of the team management will be identified and appointed subsequently."

The statement also revealed that a new CEO had been chosen "subject to the agreement on terms and conditions of service".

Dyson played 30 Tests for Australia, averaging 26.64, and 29 one-day internationals.
