Fixtures aren't fair, moans Jose

Jose Mourninho was today on another collision course with football's governing bodies.

As his club promised to co-operate with the Premier League over the Ashley Cole tapping controversy, the Chelsea manager suggested that the way the fixtures have been organised puts his team at a distinct disadvantage.

Mourinho admitted that his Chelsea team missed injured player Arjen Robben against Manchester City but then said: "Another reason why we struggle is that we don't control the fixtures.

"After every international week, Chelsea play on Saturday, Manchester United on Sunday and Arsenal on Monday.

"At Christmas time we played one day, had one day off, played the next day, one day off, played the next day.

"They played one day, had two days to rest, they played again, two more days off, then they play again.

"Who controls the fixtures? Who decides we have to play at Everton on Saturday while Manchester Unied play on Sunday and Arsenal on Monday?"

Both United and Arsenal's matches have been scheduled for TV but the

Chelsea manager believes that his chief rivals for the Premiership title have been consistently given an advantage with their extra preparation time.

Mourinho's latest outburst will hardly endear him to the Premier League, who have the power to fine Chelsea or even deduct points if they find the club guilty of an illegal approach to Cole.
