Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has issued an update on Alisson's fitness after the goalkeeper appeared to suffer an injury against Manchester City.

Trent Alexander-Arnold earned the Reds a point at the Etihad Stadium on Saturday, firing home from inside the area with 10 minutes to play to cancel out Erling Haaland's opener.

It was a hard-earned point for Liverpool, with Alisson forced repeatedly into action and in the final of eight minutes of stoppage time at the end of the game went to the floor clutching the back of his leg.

The keeper appeared to be struggling but with Liverpool having made all five of their substitutes, was forced to soldier on as City took a corner - which almost brought a winning goal - to end the game.

Asked afterward for an update on Alisson, Klopp told reporters: “The shadow on this game is obviously that Ali felt something and Diogo felt something – something we have to assess and then we will see.”

He added: "I hope it’s not that serious, but I don't have the answer - no clue in the moment what it is.

"I spoke to him and he said he only felt [it] a little bit, but we have to wait for the scan."
