Andre Villas-Boas is ready to make a move for Chelsea midfielder Raul Meireles, according to reports.

The Tottenham boss wants to move quickly to replace the outgoing Luka Modric and is keen on the Portugal international, who he signed for £12million during his time at Chelsea, the Daily Mirror reports.

Meireles, 29, who also played under Villas-Boas at Porto, was upset at his manager’s departure from Stamford Bridge last season and would be interested in a move to White Hart Lane.
