Antoine Griezmann has confirmed he will stay at Atletico Madrid next season, saying it would be a "low blow" to leave the Spanish club this summer.

It means Los Rojiblancos are expected to try and hold onto their star players until next year, which includes Griezmann who has been the subject of interest from several clubs including Manchester United.

However, the Red Devils are thought to have cooled their interest in Griezmann, 26, who is contracted to Atletico until 2021.

And after hinting on Twitter this week he could stay at Atletico, Griezmann has now confirmed the club's transfer ban means he will definitely not leave the Vicente Calderon this summer.

"The CAS sanction has been passed. I've decided to stay," Griezmann told the French football programme, Telefoot.

"It's been another good season and hopefully we can make some good signings in January.

"It's a tough moment for the club, for my team-mates, and it would be a low blow to leave now."
