Alexis Sanchez insists that everything is ‘all good’ within the Chile camp after captain Gary Medel was forced to intervene to prevent a bust-up between the Arsenal star and team-mate Marcelo Diaz.

According to reports originating from Chile, the pair almost came to blows as the national team prepares for this summer’s Copa America championships, after the Arsenal star demanded to take a set-piece in the Friday’s friendly clash with El Salvador.

Diaz, who plays for Bundesliga side Hamburg, is Chile’s first-choice set-piece taker, and the midfielder is said to have been seriously angered by the Arsenal man before a heated exchange erupted.

According to El Mercurio, the Hamburg star branded Alexis ‘greedy’ before lambasting him for missing a training session, before team-mates – including captain Medel – were forced to intervene.

But Alexis has moved to play the incident, telling reporters on Monday that the argument was blown out of proportion.

“We’re all good,” insisted Sanchez. “It was an exchange of opinions, like [the media] loves, it’s normal.

“Everything’s sorted, there’s no fight and we are all calm, they’re things that happen in a match.”
